Answer your next caregiver applicant before another agency does
The Caregiver Hiring Kit: five tools for small California home care agencies, from the first reply to the end of week one. Copy them tonight. No software needed.
Most applicants don't disappear. They hear back from someone else first.
When I worked the floor, I was the nurse who said yes to every extra shift. Most of the time it wasn't that nobody applied. The applications were there. They sat until someone had a minute.
Augusta's Q4 2025 benchmark of more than 110,000 caregiver applicants found the strongest hiring outcomes when people were interviewed "within four days of applying," and recruiters said 24 to 48 hours "often yields the highest engagement and conversion." The biggest drop-off sat between the application and the interview getting booked.
So this kit is about speed and follow-through with the applicants you already have.

It names a next step, it names a person and a time, and it doesn't promise the job. The other four tools, and why each line is there, are in the kit.
Who it's from
I'm Neill. I've been a nurse in long-term care and hospice for about ten years, and I still do home visits in the Bay Area. I build the tools small care businesses use for the work nobody has time for at 10pm: replies to applicants, interview booking, and reminders before a TB test or certification runs out.
The kit works without any of that. An inbox, a free booking link and a notepad are enough.
The California rules in the kit come from Health and Safety Code sections 1796.43, 1796.44 and 1796.45 and SB 412 (2025), checked on leginfo.legislature.ca.gov on October 24, 2026. They're the rules as written, not legal advice; confirm your own situation with CDSS Home Care Services or your attorney.
